Kendall Regional Medical Center’s New Emergency Department Opens

Kendall Regional Medical Center’s new 45,000 sq.ft. Emergency Department recently opened. The new, expanded 48-bed Emergency Department features 4 trauma rooms and the latest state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment, including a 64-slice CT scanner, as well as a dedicated pediatric area called Kidsville.

“This is a major achievement for us,” said Victor Maya, Kendall Regional Medical Center CEO. “We are now able to better serve our patients and that is always our main goal.”

The new Emergency Department is part of Kendall Regional Medical Center’s new 165,000 sq. ft., $110 million facility which also houses new Operating Rooms on the second floor including 10 high-tech Surgical Suites, with two exclusively for Open Heart surgery. The new Critical Care Unit, on the third floor of the new building, contains the 52-bed ICU, with four centralized pods for cardiac, neurological and medical/surgical care.
